Most module sets will show a residual voltage and we read each module’s impedance. Units that have lost a cell or have excess impedance are removed, replaced at that time.
This chemistry (Nickel-Metal Hydride) of battery diminishes in Amp—Hour capacity over time and use. The reconditioning process is to overcharge a full set of modules very slowly, then to drain the battery very slowly. AND to repeat this cycle. We do 6 cycles. The process breaks up the internal molecule clusters that have developed over time and use, regaining lost surface area, and resulting in restoring of substantial lost Amp-Hour capacity.
After reconditioning and a 12 hour settle, we perform a 50 amp electronics lab test on the set of 28. We monitor voltage of every module and every pair. WE take a pic of the meter set before and at end of 50 amp test. Every module is marked. SORTING is then done, to get a balanced set, that will perform for years.
We have a Prius gen 2 and a Prius gen 3 vehicle set up for in-vehicle testing. Voltages of module pairs are observed and monitored in—vehicle, AND we do a full-throttle test up a freeway on-ramp. We take a pic of the results. Any poor-performing modules are removed, replaced, and the set re-tested.

Prius HV Batteries contain 168 cells in 28 modules. Over time and use (10-15 years) the amperage capacity will gradually diminish. Eventually, some cells will fall below useability, and require replacement or reconditioning.
The installation at our facility typically takes about 2 hours. You can drop off your vehicle, enjoy a coffee nearby, and we’ll notify you as soon as the installation is complete.

We provide a comprehensive three-year warranty with unlimited mileage for our reconditioned batteries. This warranty covers no-charge replacements or repairs, pro-rated after one year. If we performed the installation, it also includes the installation service.
